Only four contemporary cards marked the solitary season of minor league play in the first year of professional baseball for Albert Pujols. Nowhere else will you find a graded set of all four, all Mint +, half of them the highest ever graded, including two Gem Mint and one PRISTINE grades. There were three cards produced of Pujols in 2000; none before. Of all those three varieties of cards made in 2000, there are only 22 BGS 10s. There are no 2000 black label varieties, making this BGS 10 the highest graded 2000 Pujols card of any make and model. There is scant comparison, especially this century, of Pujols rise. He had one single year in the minors, all but 3 games at SINGLE A level, the last 3 at AAA. He never played pro ball before and would never play in the minors again after this ONE season almost entirely with the Peoria Chiefs. An additional distinction these two cards hold: appearing on most all cards since forever (with some deviations and exceptions) are two things: the Season Stat Line and the Career Stat Line. If you have a veteran it can read like an eye chart. A rookie or up and down minor leaguer might have an eye chart of minor league stats alongside sporadic Major League stats. This is evident by the gaping expanse of blank area on these two cards allocated for this purpose. Pujols home run to clinch the 2000 Pacific Coast League Championship would be his last career at bat in the minor leagues. This was his last card. It is his rarest minor league card to find in Mint condition, with only four other PSA 9s and no PSA 10s. This is the only known mint example offered for sale anywhere.
